Galileo–Xu Guangqi Meeting

Symposium on Relativistic Astrophysics

Strong gravitational lensing. A foreground galaxy stretches the galaxies behind it into tangential arcs and splits each into multiple images — a bright arc outside the Einstein radius, a faint counter-image within it — which close into a ring at alignment.

About this edition

The meetings provide a high-level platform for exchange between East and West in relativistic astrophysics and the related theory, experiment and observation. Organised jointly by China and Italy since 2009, they alternate between the two.
